The money side can get complex
So you clearly need a specialist contractor accountant
Just saying ‘IR35’ is often enough to send a contractor running for cover. This piece of legislation is horrifyingly technical and complex, but it’s crucially important for you. (It may make us geeks in your eyes, but we love all that.)
Because we specialise in accountancy for contractors working in all industries (such as IT, engineering, energy and construction), we know everything there is to know about every last detail that affects you. And clients who’ve come to us from their local high street accountant (or someone recommended by their mum’s friend’s brother’s running partner) find that makes a big difference.
While we revel in all the financial ins and outs of tax, National Insurance and so on, we appreciate you’re probably less interested in the whys and wherefores, and more focussed on what it means to your take home pay. So, we’ve developed our service to let you concentrate on what you do best, while we get on with on what we do best. Namely, maximise your income.
The first thing we’ll do is advise you on how best to set up. While there are a number of options, a limited company is often the best approach, but we’ll assess your individual situation and give you some plain, simple, honest guidance. Once that’s decided, we’ll focus on getting you set up properly and working with you to make sure your finances suit your lifestyle.
Then, you’re home free. We’ll take care of everything for you, from NI contributions to VAT returns and business and personal tax returns (no idea what they are? No matter). We can regularly assess your IR35 status to make sure you’re keeping HMRC on side and we’ll stay up to date on any changes to legislation in case they affect your status.
Great value service
So, down to cost. One major difference to your local high street accountant, aside from our expertise in IR35 and every aspect of contracting, is that we don’t charge by the hour and clock up costs every time you call. We charge a fixed monthly fee, however much work we do for you, and we’ve introduced tiered prices, so that you only pay for the services you need. Click here to find out what we charge and just how much is included.
If you still think your local accountant might be a better option, because at least you can sit down with them at any time, face-to-face (even though you probably have to pay for the privilege), let us reassure you. While we do work primarily via phone and email, we can meet with you at any time to go over things in person, whenever is convenient for you. All in with the fixed price. Better still, as your whole team knows your accounts inside out, the world doesn’t grind to a halt if one person is away. When you weigh it all up, your choice is clear.
