ClearSky has been providing no nonsense accounting for contractors for 12 years. Formerly known as Quay Accounting, the company was founded by Duncan Strike in 1995. Ever the driven young entrepreneur, Duncan trained as an accountant after work, and still managed to achieve Chartered status in record time. Having become a partner of a leading accountancy firm by the age of 26, he decided to set up by himself with a fresh approach to accountancy and specialise in the niche area of contracting.
Now employing over 50 staff, ClearSky have offices based in Poole (Bournemouth) and Warrington and have already looked after more than 6,200 clients. ClearSky's success so far has been put down to an emphasis on client relationships combined with a fixed fee approach. Our accountants, in fact, say that one of their biggest job perks is seeing the people they help get the things they work so hard for, be that financial security, or a Lamborghini.
In 2008, Quay Accounting joined forces with Parasol, the UK’s favourite umbrella company. Both companies share the same values and vision for looking after clients, and both specialise in the contractor industry, offering services that complement each other perfectly.
In 2009 the company's name was changed to ClearSky, to reflect the clarity of our company vision and the transparency of our services and costs. The whole premise of ClearSky is to provide specialist accountancy services for contractors in a no nonsense, hassle free way and our aim to become the most respected accountancy service for contractors in the UK is well underway. In late 2009, Duncan stepped down to focus on developing new systems and services for clients and Derek Kelly took over as ClearSky's Managing Director.

We don’t want to bog you down with financial jargon or technicalities, we simply want to offer honest, straightforward and very, very good advice.
